The Great Gabbo
The Great Gabbo (1929) features a ventriloquist who goes mad and communicates through his ventriloquist dummy. It stars Erich von Stroheim (Grand Illusion, Sunset Boulevard). This one I won't watch because of the ventriloquist dummy theme, but I'll bet it's creepy all right.
